Look closely at the picture. You will see a couple of cocoa pods growing in the trees at this artisan chocolate maker. I took this photo in in Costa Rica whilst we were having a family holiday.

I tasted the white slimy mucilage, which had a very distinctive taste. https://www.cocoabox.com.au/cacao-pulp-all-you-need-to-know/ After this, we tried a little of the very bitter cocoa bean. The manufacture was little more advanced than our home kitchen – very Heath Robinson.
We took part in the chocolate manufacture process, then sampled a few small pieces of different flavoured chocolate.
This holiday had taken around 4 years to come to fruition. We booked the flights once, pre-covid, then again during covid and got cancelled, and the third time lucky we were able to go to Costa Rica for our family holiday.
What a privilege.
I worked at Cadbury in Bournville for about 7 years, so I know a few things about chocolate manufacture, but what I really learned today – from this prompt is – dream chocolate is all about the experience!
